JRE Course Press Release

NCS is pleased to announce that it has been selected to provide the operational and technical training for the Joint Range Extension Gateway (JRE-GW) Version 5.0 for the USAF. This is our 34th Tactical Data Link (TDL) training course and our 3rd dealing with JRE / JREAP technology. Like every NCS training course, this course is objectives based, covering more than 250 learning objectives, making it the most thorough and comprehensive JRE course available.

The five-day course of instruction includes an in-depth review of Link 16 / JTIDS / MIDS and Joint Range Extension Applications Protocol (JREAP) technologies, as well as expert level operators training, both instructive and hands-on. This approach to training ensures that the operators are not just trained "button mashers", but that they understand the underlying technology of the programs and systems that affect the JRE-GW. Students receive testing throughout, as well as an Operators Performance Test prior to receiving the JRE-GW 5.0 Operators Certification. Students also receive the JRE-GW 5.0 Quick Reference Guide (QRG), detailing 60 different technical and operational procedures.

NCS consulted with USAF Joint Interface Control Officer (JICO) Staff during course development in order to ensure that the necessary learning objectives were covered, so that upon completion, students are ready operate the system without supervision or additional instruction.

Collaborative course development is an excellent example of our unique Instructional System Design (ISD) process, which meets the specific requirements of TDL / C4ISR topics and systems, and is just another reason why NCS continues to be a global leader for Tactical Data Link and Network Centric Training.
